Today marks 419 years since the martyrdom of St. Oliver Plunkett at Tyburn on the 1st of July 1681 (in the Julian calendar). His feast is celebrated on the 11th in the Roman calendar, which is the date of his martyrdom under the Gregorian calendar which was of course only adopted in England in 1752. He was also the last Catholic martyr to die in England.
